Can I Focus?

Hey I got here at 9! And I understood the tech talk. And then the next thing I did was review a junior person’s work. I thought she would be just as capable as me and passed it off because I didn’t have time. But I was able to point out that her numbers were wrong and show her some new ways to check quantities. I used to make mistakes like that. To be fair, she’s never been to the place and I have. But still it was nice to see how far I’ve come. She’s really smart and good at stuff and made this mistake that I would have made a few years ago. And now I get to pass work on to her so she learns the things I’ve learned. Amazing feeling.

Now what was I going to do today? This blog is supposed to be about getting my crap done, not self congratulation.

Ok didn’t get to work by 8:30 but got here by 9, which was the real goal. Like hopefully J got to the site by 8 via trying to get there by 7:30. He has the added motivation of a PIP, bless him.

Holy shit he incorporated my feedback and submitted decent paperwork. Not that it’s legible or anything, let’s not get crazy. But he has the right boxes checked and gives a resolution for the issue he identified.

Hey that’s #4 on the list. And I sort of checked in on BC by reviewing with S. Need to talk to other S about the work plan still. And perhaps work on the MC CCR figures. I’m glad M is pushing me on that.

What next? Get a bagel.

Oh groan I have more to do on the first CCR.

S’s work looks good now I think.

I’m so excited for M to stay over. I’m not worried about my freedom with him. I’ve tasted freedom for 10 years, but I don’t think I’ve had enough. It’s just that he’s independent and not controlling.

Ok M CCR. There’s like two things. But one of them is calling G. I was going to warn him with a text, but he prefers to miss a call and call back. I respect boomers and will contact him the way he prefers.

Ok G knows the answers to all of these probably. Bathroom and then call him.

G is in a meeting. J wants to talk. Let’s do something that doesn’t require talking on the phone. Sign up for training, get that started. Yes I think that’s the move.

Hokay talked to J, and G is going to call me back in 5 minutes. And I tried to sign up for training and sent a message to the person in charge of it that I have not received the email I was supposed to receive. Why is it like pulling teeth? Not a line of questioning worth pursuing.

1×7 + 1×8 is 15. Obviously he meant 10 instead of one. And it’s ok that this isn’t his focus. But he does need to fill out that log.

Talked to G for more than an HOUR. And have to go walk P. Home by 4:45, walk until 5, leave immediately. Well shit I better go.

I recorded what I worked on pretty well here, so I’ll timesheet it tomorrow.
