Yesterday was kind of a bust. I did more than nothing. I moved a couple things along and I got organized for the week. More or less. Let’s see what’s in Outlook tasks. If I called this like Dana’s blog it’d be something about a slacker I guess. I am not a slacker! But am I really not?
Pick a half hour task.
Hey I made major progress on getting my flights and hotel booked.
Pick another half hour task.
How about MC OM.
Figure out what’s in the folder. A draft folder with appendices and text in it. Then a draft outside of that subfolder. And 2023 appendices. And another draft. Figure out which one is most current. What else is here. System changes memo. Samsara – a cut sheet maybe?
When you want to make a change, start small.
Samsara is a GPS tag. Huh.
The last thing took less than half an hour, this one is taking more. That’s ok.
Creating a new comfort zone. Start doing the hard thing and eventually it feels more comfortable.
Maybe it’s about knowing exactly what I need to do. Is there a “start with the dishes” for work? Maybe the reason I “get paid the big bucks” or whatever is because I have to decide what to do first. I need a micromanager. But I would hate a micromanager.
Plus everything feels better when I’m as busy as Dana is. But I thought that one project would be a cash/to-do cow. But they want someone who is a work cow. And I can’t do that right now, legitimately.
